Ridgefield Prepares For Annual Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- On Sept. 27, the third annual Pumpkin Weigh Off will take place in Ridgefield's Ballard Park.

The event, from 10 to 3 p.m., is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Ridgefield Supply Co. and the Conecticut Giant Pumpkin Grower's Club. 

Pumpkins should range in size from 400 to 1,600 pounds. The weigh-off begins at noon and cash prizes will be awarded. 

There also will be booths, farm stands, activities for children and lots of fun all afternoon.
