Splash-In: Enjoy Free Movies Under The Stars At Candlewood Lake In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. -- Grab a blanket, bring a snack and take the whole family to watch a free movie every Thursday during the month of July at Candlewood Lake in Danbury.

The movies begin at dusk, at about 8:30 p.m.

The movie schedule is as follows:

  • July 7: "Mrs. Doubtfire"
  • July 14: "Zootropia"
  • July 21: "Inside Out"
  • July 28: "Transformers"

The rain date is July 29.

Families can come early to save a good spot and even enjoy a picnic before the movie starts. Picnic blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. Feel free to come in pajamas.

The following nonprofit agencies and other organizations that provide services to families in the greater Danbury area will be present at the summer movie nights:

  • July 7: Danbury Public Library, Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut, All About Kids Pediatric Dentistry, Morris Street Family Resource Center and Family Learning Center
  • July 14: Macaroni Kid, Families Network of Western Connecticut, Morris Street Family Resource Center  and Family Learning Center
  • July 21: Danbury Public Library, PAL, All About Kids Pediatric Dentistry, Morris Street Family Resource Center and Family Learning Center
  • July 28: Macaroni Kid, South Street Family Resource Center, Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut, Morris Street Family Resource Center and Family Learning Center

The Town Park at Candlewood Lake is located at 36 Hayestown Road in Danbury. Free parking is available at the PAL Building.
