Danbury Offers Dining Out Options For Thanksgiving

Two Steps Downtown Grille, a Danbury institution located on the CityCenter Green, will be open for Thanksgiving dinner.
The Thanksgiving menu for Two Steps Downtown Grille. Diners can choose from a complete takeout menu for $15 per person (10-person minimum) or a buffet from noon to 7 p.m. for 20.95 per person, $7.95 per child under the age of 10.

DANBURY, Conn. -- Are you looking for a stress-free dining option for Thanksgiving? Danbury residents who don't want to cook this Thanksgiving have some options.

Two Steps Downtown Grille at 5 Ives St. offers two choices. It has a complete takeout menu of Thanksgiving fare, with a price tag of $15 per person for a minimum of 10 people.

The Thanksgiving-To-Go option includes peas and mushrooms, creamed onions, mashed potatoes and turnips, candied yams, whole baked New England ham and fresh roasted turkey with stuffing, pan gravy and cranberry sauce. The meal comes with heating instructions -- but you have to do your own dishes. Call 203-794-0092 at least 48 hours in advance to place your order.

If you'd rather dine out, Two Steps offers an all-day buffet from noon to 7 p.m. The servings include Parker House Rolls, Caesar salad, marinated vegetables, fresh fruit salad, peas and mushrooms, creamed onions, mashed potatoes and turnips, candied yams, fresh Maine crabcakes, whole baked New England ham and fresh roasted turkey with pan gravy, cranberry sauce and stuffing. For dessert, there's apple crisp a la mode.

The price is $20.95 per person, $7.95 per child under the age of 10. Call 203-794-0092 to make a reservation. Two Steps is located at 5 Ives St. on the CityCenter Green.

The popular Cafe on the Green at Richter Park is serving up a four-course holiday meal on Thursday. The first course is penne ala vodka or butternut squash soup, followed by a gourmet mixed salad. The third course offers a choice of roasted rack of lamb, filetto di manzo ala gorgonzola, pan seared grouper ala julie, pan seared red snapper, linguine ala gamberi e vongole, or traditional roasted turkey breasts.

The meal also includes dessert of choice with coffee or tea. The Cafe on the Green is located at 100 Aunt Hack Road. Call: 203-791-0369 for more information or to make a reservation.

The Fairfields at the landmark Ethan Allen Inn  in Danbury also offers a full Thanksgiving buffet with seatings at noon and 2 p.m. on Thursday. Unfortunately, all the reservations were taken this week.

Hopeful patrons can call 800-742-1776, Ext. 316, in case of cancellations. Upfront payment of $35 per person, $19 for children plus taxes and service charge is required. The Ethan Allen Inn is located at 21 Lake Ave. Ext.
