“The International Youth Advisory Board is such a valuable part of YVC, so we look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish this year,” David Battey, president and founder of YVC, said. “We love seeing all that can be achieved when outstanding youth from throughout the U.S. and Canada come together.”
Members each serve a one-year term, during which they will give input on the YVC programs, internationally, and supply new ideas to the YVC of Western Connecticut. Board meetings are held remotely, once a month, along with one in-person meeting in October at the YVC Summit.
There are about 10,000 youth volunteers per year from the U.S. and Canada, and the 22 board members represent the volunteers.
Youth ages 11-18 participate in the YVC of Western Conn., completing service projects. During the last year, there were nearly 200 who served with YVC of Western Conn., and they put in 3,679 hours serving.
