Although the parade has been canceled, the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center at 6 Lake Ave. will host Chicks n Sync from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and will dish up St. Patrick's Day fare, including corned beef sandwiches for $8, hot dogs for $2 and "great beer: priceless!"

Parade organizers sent out a message on Saturday notifying residents that "upon the direction of the City of Danbury, Sunday's St. Patrick's Day Parade has been canceled." The cancellation was due to the snow in the forecast for Sunday.

The parade grand marshals were slated to be Paul Grasseler Sr., formerly of Danbury, who was named Hibernian of the Year, and Bethel resident Meghan O'Connor, who was named Lady Hibernian of the Year.
