Anthony Facchini was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into a report made to the Department of Children and Families in June regarding his actions at the Norwich Free Academy, said Lt. Christopher Conley of the Norwich Police Department.

The initial report alleged that Facchini had an inappropriate relationship with a student at the school, Conley said.

A further investigation revealed that he had relations with two students of the academy beginning in 2017 while he was on staff at the school, he added.

The identities of the two victims are confidential.

In addition to coaching football and track, Facchini was a strength and conditioning coach at NFA.

Following his arrest around 11 a.m. Wednesday, police served a search and seizure warrant at the school with assistance from the FBI Computer Analysis Response Team and the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Conley said.

Facchini was held on a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
