The fliers were found over the weekend at about 12 homes in the North Avenue area, police said. The single sheet of paper includes the following message, in part:

"Our nation is being destroyed. Within the next 40 years, our culture will be completely erased. Thousands of years of toil and sacrifice will have been in vain because we failed to protect our heritage."

Several white supremacy websites are listed at the bottom of the flier.

The Westport Police Department is investigating and reached out to the Anti-Defamation League’s Connecticut office for help in finding the source of the fliers.

Steve Ginsburg, regional director of the ADL office, told the Westport News that the fliers are a “standard alt-right message" that can be downloaded from many alt-right websites, making them difficult to track.

The fliers were left in the driveways during the overnight hours.

"We are aware of approximately 12 fliers. We do not believe anyone who received them is specifically being targeted," Westport Police Lt. David Farrell said.

“Not only do we want to keep our community safe, but we strive to also give peace of mind," Police Chief Foti Koskinas said. "When you combine the content of the flier and the nature in which this was done, we recognize the concern and alarm it may cause. We are working diligently to determine who is responsible, and look further into the motive.”

“I am concerned and angry that once again statements like this have found their way to Westport homes. ... This kind of ethnic ugliness has no place anywhere, and certainly not in Westport," said First Selectman Jim Marpe.

“Westport must not tolerate the threatening, bullying and hateful messages that are at the heart of these fliers.“

In February, white supremacist fliers were also found in Norwalk, Weston and Wilton. Those similar fliers carried the message “#White Lives Matter.”

Anyone with information or questions about the fliers should contact the Westport Police Detective Bureau at 203-341- 6080.
