Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Truck On I-84 In Danbury

updated: DANBURY, Conn. -- A female pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 84 west near Exit 6 in Danbury on Tuesday evening, state police told NBC Connecticut.

Traffic is jammed at about 8:25 p.m. on I-84 west near Exit 6 in Danbury after a truck struck and killed a woman.

The accident happened near Exit 6, and state police arrived on scene shortly after 8 p.m.

The driver of the truck that struck the woman stopped at the scene, NBC Connecticut said. WTNH-TV reported that the woman had stopped on the shoulder of the highway and gotten out of her vehicle.

State police are investigating the fatal crash.
