Record-Breaking Warmth Could Be Headed To Danbury

Mild air will continue to surge across the Eastern United States in the coming days, bringing record high temperatures of 10 to 30 degrees above normal, according the AccuWeather.

This week is also expected to be rain-free across Fairfield County, with high temperatures in the upper 50s and approaching 60 degrees, making it feel more like early fall, forecasters say.

AccuWeather Meteorologist Evan Duffey said conditions for those out and about to purchase a Christmas tree or put up holiday decorations will be "fantastic."

A second AccuWeather senior meteorologist, Joe Lundberg, said the weather pattern is the result of a jet stream that has split the mild air from the south from the cooler air to the north.

In the Northeast, high temperatures by Saturday are expected to challenge historical highs across cities such as New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., according to AccuWeather.

"To put into perspective how mild it will be, overnight low temperatures [in the mid-40s] will be higher than the average daytime high temperature for this time of year," AccuWeather Meteorologist Michael Doll said. According to Accuweather, the end of the weekend is expected to be cooler with drenching rains on Sunday and Monday.

Though cooler air will return across the Eastern states next week, the weather will remain mild, according to the release, Snow lovers may have to wait until the new year for any significant snow across the eastern United States.
