DANBURY, Conn. - Dolores Camella McCusker of Danbury died Monday, May 19. She was 81.

McCusker was born June 8, 1932, in Waterbury, the daughter of Nicola and Rose Iannantuoni. She attended Tinker High School in Waterbury. She went on to attain a degree in biology from Tufts and a master's in teaching from Western Connecticut State University. She worked in labs at Yale under Dr. Nicolas Green and at Harvard under Nobel Laureate Dr. Frederic Hisaw.

In Danbury she worked as a biologist at Davis and Geck, a chemist at Boehringer Ingelheim, and as a biology teacher at Danbury High School and Immaculate High School. She retired from her position in quality control at MannKind.

MCCusker is survived by her husband, Edward McCusker; son, Kevin (Karen); son, Owen (Carrie); four grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Iannantuoni of Waterbury, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home , 57 Main St., Danbury. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, May 30, at St. Peter Church. Interment will be private.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at or P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
