New York State Police troopers from the Somers barracks were dispatched to a Route 22 home shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, where there was a report of an intruder inside the residence.

Upon arrival at the scene, troopers found 24-year-old Carlos Lopez, who was arrested after he allegedly broke into the home, damaging the kitchen stove and a window while doing so, police said.

Lopez was arrested and charged with burglary, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

Following his arraignment, Lopez was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail and is due to appear in North Salem Court later this month to answer the charges.
