Aderito "Derrek" Mota, 30, and Alexis Paige Brown, 24, were charged with possession of crack cocaine after agents served a search warrant at the hotel located at 89 Mill Plain Road, said Detective Lt. Christian Carroccio.

Police received the search warrant after conducting a surveillance of the area that revealed activity at the hotel by Mota that was consistent with drug trafficking, Carroccio said.

When police raided the hotel room Wednesday, they found Mota, Brown and a third person inside the room, along with crack cocaine packaged for sale, drug records and drug paraphernalia, he added.

This was the second drug investigation involving Mota within the past year, he was arrested less than 12 months ago for drug trafficking within the city, Carroccio said.

Mota is being held on $25,000; Brown is being held on $10,000 bond.
