Luis G. Sanchez, 28, is accused of driving erratically just before he was stopped on Route 6 around 2:45 a.m. by sheriff’s Deputy Keith Blessing, police said.

Sanchez failed field sobriety tests and was found to be intoxicated, according to Sheriff Donald B. Smith.

Blessing’s investigation uncovered a previous DWI conviction, the sheriff added.

Sanchez was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held there pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the felony charge, he could face up to four years in state prison and a fine of up to $5,000, Smith said.
