Danbury Motorcyclist Killed In Crash Near Bethel Town Line

DANBURY, Conn. -- A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on South Street in Danbury on Sunday, Aug. 6, police said.

Guilherme Rola of Danbury was driving southbound near the Bethel town line when his motorcycle hit another vehicle at about 8:45 p.m., according to police. Both drivers were taken to Danbury Hospital, where Rola later died of his injuries, police said.

The collision occurred in the area of 6 South St., police said. 

The preliminary investigation indicated that Rola was operating a Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed southbound on South Street when it struck a 2015 Nissan Rogue operated by Carlos Alvarado 25, of Danbury, police said. 

Danbury Police are investigating the accident.
