Danbury Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer On Multiple Charges

DANBURY, Conn. -- A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on multiple drug charges after a police investigation found he was selling drugs out of his Danbury home and across the city, police said.

Steven Arnau was taken into custody at about 6:25 a.m. Tuesday at home at 15 Grandview Ave. by investigating officers, with the assistance of members of the SWAT Team, police said in a statement.

Officers recovered a "considerable amount" of marijuana, heroin, cash, facsimile firearms and an electronic stun gun, which lead to Arnau’s arrest, police said.

A search-and-seizure warrant had been issued as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Special Investigations Division and the Community Conditions Unit. That authorized the search of Steven Arnau, his vehicle and his home.

An investigation by officers lasting several weeks had found that Arnau was selling illegal drugs from his home and throughout the city, using his vehicle to deliver the drugs, police said.

Arnau was charged with possession of narcotics (heroin), possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school. 

He was transported to the Danbury Police Department and held pending arraignment on $100,000 bond.
