Danbury Police Investigate 'Untimely' Death

DANBURY, Conn. - A Danbury man was found dead in his home Tuesday morning after friends of his called the Danbury police to investigate, police said.

According to a statement from Danbury Police Chief Alan Baker, friends of Scott Smith, 41, contacted the police after they had been unable to reach Smith through normal channels.

When the Danbury Fire Department arrived, they forced entry into his residence, police said. Paramedics found Smith's body in his bed and pronounced him dead, police said.

Smith was transported to the medical examiner's office. The Danbury Police Detective Bureau was investigating the cause of Smith's death.
