Danbury Police Release Photo Of Vehicle Of Interest In Death Of Young Mom

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury police have released a surveillance photo of a white van that is believed to have been involved in the hit-and-run accident that killed a 23-year-old Bethel woman.

Authorities described the vehicle as a white van with a ladder rack and passenger side windows. 

The van was traveling south on South Street toward Bethel when it struck and killed Rachel Sack just before midnight on Friday, Nov. 7, police said. The accident occurred just south of Great Pasture Road near Michaels II cafe.  

Sack was the mother of a 9-week-old son. She worked as a certified nursing assistant with Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut. 

A reward fund has been set up to encourage witnesses of the accident to come forward.

Donations can be made in care of Rachel Sacks Reward Fund, Union Savings Bank, Attention: Main Office, 226 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810.

Currently the reward is over $1,000.

A fund has also been set up to help Sack's infant son at the same address, attention: Jackson Scholarship Fund.
