DANBURY, Conn. -- Police are seeking the driver of an SUV who hit a Danbury woman while she crossing Hayestown Avenue who was left in critical condition, police said.
Danbury police received a call about a serious accident in the Hayestown area at 8 p.m. Thursday.
The woman was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a dark-colored SUV-type vehicle, police said. The vehicle then left the scene, police said.
She was transported by ambulance to Danbury Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident and remained in critical condition at Danbury Hospital on Friday afternoon.
Any witnesses to the accident are asked to contact Officer Matthew Georgoulis of the Danbury Police Traffic Division at 203-797-2157.
