Rickardo Rhoden, 35, of Bridgeport, was charged with public indecency, breach of peace and trespassing and was held on $5,000 bond after his arrest on Thursday.

Officers responded to a report of an assault involving two men at Beechwood and Laurel Avenue. A male witness told police that while at his girlfriend’s house sleeping, he was alerted by his girlfriend’s daughter that someone was looking in the bathroom window as she was taking a shower. The man said he ran to the front porch, where he could see if someone was at the bathroom window. After leaning over the porch railing, the man said he saw a black male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants, masturbating while looking inside the bathroom window, police said.

The witness said he yelled to the suspect, later identified as Rhoden, who then ran behind an adjacent corner store, according to police. The male witness then got into his car and went looking for Rhoden, catching up to him on Laurel Avenue, according to police.

The witness got out of his vehicle and chased Rhoden, who was heading eastbound on Beechwood Avenue. When officers arrived, they saw two men holding each other by the collars of their respective shirts.

The girlfriend’s daughter was interviewed by police officers, concurring with the male witness’s account. The male witness showed police officers where he observed the suspect, pointing out a cinder block used by the suspect to get a better view into the window, police said.
