Request For Extra Mayo At Area Deli Leads To Assault Charges

A man who wanted extra mayonnaise on his sandwich ended up in cuffs after smacking a store worker who refused his request.

The incident took place around 5;30 p.m. Sunday at the Food Fare, 1063 Broadway in Milford, said Milford Police Officer Joseph Dempsey.

According to Dempsey, police responded to the deli/market on the report of a breach of peace incident. 

An investigation led to the arrest of Patrick Kelly, 34, of New York, who allegedly smacked a store worker in the face after being denied an extra side of mayonnaise. 

Kelly was charged with breach of peace and possession of drug and drug paraphernalia charges. The arrest report did not offer details on the drug arrest.

He was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 26.
