The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Whole Foods, at 399 Post Road West, when a customer inadvertently left a clip containing two credit cards and $1600 cash on the small stand at the checkout register he used, said Westport Police.

When the man returned to the store, the money and cards were gone and had not been turned in to store management.

In reviewing the surveillance, a man was observed picking up the clip and placing it into his pocket. The man, along with a woman he was with are believed to be shopping couriers, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the identities of the two individuals is asked to contact the Westport Police Department Detective Bureau at (203) 341-6080.
