Bridgeport Man Charged With Murdering 14-Year-Old In Christmas Eve Shooting

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A 23-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on murder charges in the Christmas Eve shooting death of a 14-year-old high school student, the Connecticut Post reported.    

Police say the 14-year-old shot to death outside a barber shop at 1156 State St. in Bridgeport on Christmas Eve was an innocent bystander.

Michael Majors, 23, and Trey Kaiser, 17, both of State Street, approached a group of 10 men standing on the sidewalk outside a barber shop at 1156 State St. at 4:15 p.m. Thursday and Majors opened fire, the Post said.

Luis Colon, 14, a resident of Wood Avenue and a student at nearby Bassick High, was shot in the chest and died at St. Vincent's Medical Center, the Post said. 

Kaiser was shot in the leg by a man in the crowd during the incident, which was captured on a security camera, police told the Post. 

After Majors was questioned by police and confessed, he was charged with murder and held on $1 million bond, the Post said.
