DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership is sponsoring an early childhood fair, "Off to a Great Start!" on Saturday, Feb. 20.
At this free event, parents will be able to gather information on preschools, programs and services for families, as well as other learning opportunities for young children.
The "Off to a Great Start!" event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rogers Park Middle School, 21 Memorial Drive, Danbury.
There will be entertainment provided by Acting Out, offering interactive story telling for children, and Animal Embassy, providing children of all ages opportunities to come face to face with animals. There also will be face painters from Escape to the Arts and arts and crafts activities.
The first 100 families to attend will receive a free goodie bag. Child care providers and nonprofit agencies can register for a free display table at the event by e-mailing Elizabeth Quiñonez at Elizabeth.firstname.lastname@example.org.
Danbury has embarked on a multi-year journey to explore ways to improve the future by focusing on children's early years. Entitled "Danbury's Promise for Children Partnership," the plan's desired result is that all Danbury children through age 8 are healthy and ready for school and lifelong learning. The partnership includes parents, health care providers, schools, early childhood care and education providers and businesses.
