Crashes Causes Gridlock On Both I-95, Merritt During Evening Commute

There was gridlock on stretches of both I-95 and the Merritt during the Tuesday evening commute following crashes that blocked lanes.

The center lane was blocked on northbound I-95 between Route 1/Post Road (Exit 5) and Harvard Avenue (Exit 6) in Stamford with stopped traffic at the scene and gridlock to Arch Street (Exit 3) in Greenwich before the lane reopened around 6:30 p.m.

There were also hourlong delays on the northbound Merritt with the right lane blocked between Route 111/Main Street (Exit 48) in Bridgeport and Route 25 (Exit 49) with traffic backed up to Main Avenue (Exit 40) in Norwalk before the lane reopened just before 7 p.m.
